My Opinion

I don't often buy CDs. I must admit that my CD collection leaves a lot to be desired. I usually find that my radio does my fine. But now and again I feel the need to buy an album, and when I heard that the allSTARS* were releasing their first album, I started to save my cash. And was it worth that cash? I say yes. I'm not usually pop music's biggest fan, but here, I make an exception. Packed full of brilliant tracks and it comes with a free remix CD, allSTARS* is definetly worth the £10.99. If you like the material that this band have released so far, then you'll love this album. Basically it is a mix of all the best songs from series one and two of their TV show, StarStreet. I think that for the most part, they chose well. There are a couple of songs from the TV show that I feverently wish that they had put on the album, but probably aren't really suitable. The bonus of having songs from the TV show on the album is that I knew most of them already, so I could start singing along straight away. But because the songs have already been on TV, I can't help but picture stuff from the TV show when I listen to the album. For instance, in one episode, Sam gets really fat, and when You Got It Bad comes on, I can't help but laugh becuase all I can picture is fat Sam dancing around.

Best Track

Ohhh, that's a tricky one. I'd have to say at the moment, my favourite song on the album is Greatest Love Story. It's a beautiful song, Becky has got a great voice and Ashley sounds so sexy, plus you get that lovely bit of music at the end. But There are so many tracks on the album that I like, that I have to give a special mention to Butterflies (how can Becky sing that high?), The Land Of make Believe (probably my favourite song that they have released so far) and Lost Without You (the only song that I can actually sing and sound half decent).

Worst Track

Not such a hard choice. On every CD I own, there is always one track that I skip, and on this one, it is Going All The Way. Perhaps it is becuase it the song for a film called Thunderpants (exactly...) but I just hate this song.

Good songs out of 16 = 15.

Remix CD

I've got to give a mention to the remix CD. The tracks on it are;

01 Best Friends
(Almighty mix)
02 Is There Something I Should Know
(Mothership mix)
03 The Land Of Make Believe
(Almighty mix)
04 Things That Go Bump In The Night
(Xenomania mix)
05 Back When
(Xenomania mix)
06 Is There Something I Should Know
(Almighty mix)

This is the extra CD for people like me, who find a bit of pop alright in moderation, but also lile a bit of dance music. It's a great little extra, with tracks that sound like they could be on an Ibiza complilation CD, and yet it doesn't take away from the main CD. At the end of the day, when you're listening to the Land Of Make Believe remix, you just want to stick the original on. In my opinion, the Xenomania mixes are by far the best.
